NBA snubs Davis for All-Star game

Pelicans standout forward Anthony Davis has produced All-Star caliber numbers in his second year in the NBA, but a vote of the league's coaches has left the 20-year-old on the outside looking in for this year's All-Star game.

In the Western Conference, the seven reserves are Dwight Howard, LaMarcus Aldrige, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker and Chris Paul. The Western Conference starters are Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love.

Davis is averaging 20.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. Davis tops the NBA in total blocks (121).

The 2014 NBA All-Star game is scheduled for Sunday, February 16th in New Orleans. Davis may take part in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday the 14th.
