LSU to schedule make-up days after winter storm closures

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Now that schools have reopened after closure caused by freezing weather, administrators across the state tackle the job of scheduling winter storm "make-up days."

Currently the plan at LSU calls for students to attend classes on three different Saturdays to make up for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week and last Friday.

Administrators say they're convinced students would rather do that instead of losing time that's already scheduled off for Mardi Gras and spring break.

"We had a couple of options," said LSU registrar administrator Robert Doolos. Saturday classes was one, canceling part of spring break was another."

Administrators have not yet announced the dates for Saturday make-up classes. They say students will be notified via the university's website and social media.
