City officials open the doors to new Whole Foods market

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Mayor Mitch Landrieu and other city officials were on hand Tuesday to welcome a new Whole Foods to Mid-City.

Whole Foods opened its third New Orleans-area store at the corner of Broad and Bienville.

The opening is the beginning of the ReFresh Project which includes Liberty's Kitchen and a Tulane culinary center.

The project is funded by the New Orleans Fresh Food Retailer Initiative.

The $14 million project will increase fresh food options and create 125 full-time jobs.
