Toshiba gives KIRA Ultrabooks even more snob appeal

Toshiba has upgraded its premium KIRA Ultrabook line with 4th generation Intel Core "Haswell" processors, which means faster performance, better graphics, and longer battery life. The updated models maintain Toshiba's signature ultra-high resolution PixelPure display, sleek, lightweight design, and resilient AZ91 pressed magnesium alloy build.

Weighing a mere 2.6 pounds and sporting a sleek, 0.7 inch profile, KIRA models are built to be durable as well as beautiful. A knockout 13.3-inch display, which is available with or without touch, provides 2560x1440 resolution -- an impressive 221 pixels per inch!

Touch screen models use Corning Concore Glass to resist damage, while the body is made of AZ91 magnesium alloy with a honeycomb-base to increase durability and rigidity.

The KIRA family also features high-quality Harman Kardon stereo speakers, enhanced by DTS audio processing for best-in-class sound quality. A 256GB solid state drive and 8GB of 1600 MHz memory ensures fast and responsive performance, and the latest Intel architecture lets the onboard Li-Polymer battery last nine or more hours.

Also noteworthy is included Platinum Service & Support, which bundles two-year limited warranty, 24x7 phone support, access to dedicated U.S.-based agents, rapid repair, set-up assistance, annual tune-ups and more.

Buying a new KIRA Ultrabook also gets you a complimentary two-year subscription to security products from Symantec, including Norton Internet Security, Norton Anti-Theft and Norton Online Backup, providing 25GB of online storage.

The updated KIRA models go on sale this month at Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers, or direct from Toshiba starting at $1,499.99. For more information, visit Toshiba.com.
