Des Allemands woman sets neighbor's home on fire after fight

DES ALLEMANDS, LA (WVUE) - A Des Allemands woman admitted to setting her neighbor's trailer on fire after a fight, destroying the home.

Police arrested Jessica Bryan, who later admitted to starting the fire that burned down her neighbor's home on Highway 90 East.

Local firefighters and volunteer fire departments responded to the fire at around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 3. They managed to extinguish the blaze, but the damage had already destroyed the home. Detectives found that the fire was started intentionally at the rear of the trailer and that the owners of the trailer had been involved in a fight with their neighbors at another location that same night

Police say Bryan admitted to returning home before her neighbors and finding a gas can near the victim's home. She poured the fuel under the trailer and lit the fire that burned down the home.

Brian said she acted alone in the incident and was placed under arrest and charged with Simple Arson of an Inhabited Dwelling. She is currently being held in lieu of $100,000 bond as set by Judge Walter I. Lanier III.
