NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

An elderly couple was tied up during a home invasion early Wednesday evening in the Garden District, according to New Orleans police.

According to the NOPD major offense log, a man knocked on the victims' door around 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of Sixth Street. A 68-year-old woman opened the door without asking who was there. The person knocking asked for someone named Bryan, according to police. The woman said no one lived at the address by that name.

The man walked away and returned 20 minutes later with two other men. The woman opened the door again and the three men forced their way inside the home.

The men pushed the woman and her 71-year-old husband into a room, tied them up and covered their faces before burglarizing their residence, according to police. The men were able to escape.

Investigators did not report any injuries. If you have any information that might help officers catch the people responsible for the home invasion, call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
