Man taking pictures in Bywater robbed by someone he photographed

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A man who was taking pictures on the levee in the Bywater was robbed Tuesday by a person he had photographed just minutes before.

Police said the robbery happened on the levee at Douglas and Forstall streets at about 4 p.m.

The victim had finished taking pictures and was packing up his gear when he was approached by the subject, who produced a gun and stole $80 in cash. The robber fled east on the levee, then unknown.

The photograph taken by the victim took is at right.

The subject is described as a black male, 18 to 25 year old, 5'8" tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a hooded camouflage jacket and blue jeans.
