Mom, 2 kids robbed while exiting vehicle

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A woman and her two children were robbed Wednesday evening as they exited their vehicle.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the woman parked her vehicle at the intersection of South Johnson Street and Nashville Avenue around 7pm.

While exiting her vehicle with her two kids, she was approached from behind by a black male.

The victim told police the man had his right hand inside of his pocket insinuating he had a gun.

The man allegedly told the woman, "I'm not going to shoot you, give me everything you have".

The victim said that she did not have anything and the suspect's response was "Give me all your money".

The suspect then knocked the backpacks out of the kids hands which fell to the ground and then grabbed the victim's purse and keys.

The victim told police the suspect fled down Nashville towards Fontainebleau. He was approximately 20 to 30 years of age wearing a navy blue wind breaker with the hood on his head, dark pants, and dark tennis shoes.
