JPSO: Vandals slash tires on 31 vehicles in Metairie neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- Detectives with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department are searching individuals who slashed tires on 31 vehicles in a Metairie neighborhood. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of February 15. Thousands of dollars in damage were caused to vehicles on the following streets: Madison Street, Taft Park, North Turnbill Drive, Division Street and Belmont Drive.

According to police, detectives believe that the suspects started in the 1600 block of Madison St. before zigzagging to the 600 block of Division St. Detectives obtained surveillance footage that shows two men approaching a car on Madison Street around 5:00 a.m. The video shows one of the two men crouching down near the tire before popping up and walking away. Investigators took samples of what appeared to be blood that was left on several of the vehicles and the substance will be put through a DNA test.

If you have any information that could help detectives, you are asked to call the JPSO Investigations Bureau at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-7867.

FOOTBALL Look at the cover pic for this post, I look miserable. You know what, I was!! The week leading up to the Saints-Vikings game was awful weather-wise. Below zero temperatures on Friday and Saturday. No one should have to deal with this nastiness. Next week, fans of New England, Philadelphia, and corporate types will be dealing with this blustery weather. But they shouldn't have to. This game should be a relief from the cold, a vacation with shorts involved. I know Minneapoli...
