Man wanted for armed robbery at Marigny business

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a business in the Marigny. The incident occurred Sunday around 5:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of St. Claude Avenue.

Police say that the suspect entered the business, walked to the back and forced two employees into a freezer. The suspect then forced a third employee to open the cash register. The employee handed the suspect $400 dollars from the register, because of fear that the suspect was armed. The suspect then ran out of a back door to the business.

The suspect is described as an African American man, 5'6" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and plain pajama pants.

If you have any information that could help detectives in this case, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
