Darren Sharper fired from NFL Network after arrest

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NFL Network terminated their contract with former Saints safety Darren Sharper after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Rape in New Orleans earlier this week.

A spokesperson for the NFL Network confirmed that Darren Sharper's contract with the network was terminated this week, though no statement from the network has been released yet.

Sharper was an analyst for the network after retiring from the NFL, but was suspended indefinitely without pay after accusations that he drugged and raped multiple women in multiple states came to light.

Arrest warrants were issued Thursday for Sharper and Erik Nunez, accusing them of raping two women in New Orleans last year.
Sharper also is under investigation in sexual assault cases in Florida, Nevada and Arizona and has pleaded not guilty to rape charges in Los Angeles.
