Child injured after being struck by float during Bacchus parade

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- A nine-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a float in the Bacchus parade. The incident occurred Sunday at 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Conery Street and St. Charles Avenue. 

According to police, the boy suffered a bruised abdomen and was transported to a nearby hospital. An officer responding to the scene slipped on beads and broke his leg. The incidents resulted in the parade being delayed for 35 minutes.
