NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A magistrate judge Friday set bond at $400,000 for Erik Nunez, an acquaintance of former Saints player Darren Sharper. Nunez is accused of raping two women in New Orleans last year along with Sharper.
State prosecutors say Erik Nunez attempted to contact both of the alleged victims. They initially requested a $ 1million dollar bond.
Nunez's attorney said there is no evidence that his client raped anyone and asked the court to set bond at $50,000. But prosecutors say DNA evidence ties him to the victims.
Judge Harry Cantrell ordered Nunez to have no further contact with the alleged victims.
Erik Nunez's brother and employer took the stand to testify on his behalf. Nunez allegedly worked for Morton's Steakhouse as a server.
