NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The man accused of raping and drugging two women in New Orleans has been transferred to Jefferson Parish on outstanding warrants for traffic violations.
Erik Nunez, an acquaintance of former Saints player Darren Sharper, was being held in the St. Charles Parish Prison on two charges of aggravated rape. A magistrate judge on Friday set his bond at $400,000.
Nunez posted the bond, but was later turned over to Jefferson Parish deputies at Orleans Parish Prison.
State prosecutors say Erik Nunez tried to contact both of the alleged victims, and they initially requested a $1 million bond.
Nunez's attorney said there is no evidence that his client raped anyone, but prosecutors say DNA evidence ties him to the victims.
Judge Harry Cantrell ordered Nunez to have no further contact with the alleged victims.
