Housekeeper wanted for stealing $50,000 worth of items from homeowner

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are searching for a housekeeper, wanted for stealing $50,000 worth of items from a homeowner.

An NOPD spokesperson says that the homeowner notified police, telling detectives that on March 2, 2014, he noticed $50,000 worth of items missing from his home. He informed detectives that the only person who had access to rooms inside of his home is his housekeeper, identified as 45-year-old Zandra Riley. The homeowner said that Riley cleaned his house several times a week.

Police executed a search warrant at Riley's home and found several stolen items. She is wanted for theft in the amount of $50,000. Detectives say that Riley is self-employed as a housekeeper and may have stolen items from other homes where she worked.

If you have any information that could help locate Zandra Riley, you are asked to call NOPD Fourth District Detectives at 504-658-6040 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-7867.
