Body found in Intracoastal Waterway is that of missing Reserve woman

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The body found Monday in the Intracoastal Waterway has been identified as that of a missing Reserve woman, according to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre.

Lakeitha Joseph, 29, and her husband, 34-year-old Kenneth Joseph, were reported missing by relatives on Feb. 19 after their house on Homewood Place was found ransacked.

The Orleans Parish coroner has confirmed that Lakeitha drowned, but did not rule out foul play.

Kenneth Joseph has not been located.

The couple's 2010 Dodge Caravan was found in a suburban Atlanta parking lot on Feb. 28, and the Sheriff's Office sent detectives there to look for evidence.

Lakeitha's body was found by a  boater Monday at about 1:30 p.m.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
