Man's body pulled from Mississippi River

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Police said the body of a man was pulled from the Mississippi River Thursday afternoon.

A fisherman found the body near Poland Avenue and N. Rampart Street near the old Navy base and wharf.

Harbor Police said the unidentified man is between 40 and 45 years old. They said there are no signs of trauma and the body likely wasn't in the water very long.

The Orleans Parish coroner has taken custody of the body and will investigate.
