A mother has been arrested after deputies discovered marijuana, cocaine, prescription pills and children at her residence in Tangipahoa Parish.
Sandra Ann Zydallas, 35, was taken into custody on numerous narcotics related charges after a joint investigation between the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office.
Deputies learned a large amount of illegal drugs was being transported between the two parishes. On Wednesday, the investigation led them to a residence in the 28000 block of Vintage Lane in Ponchatoula.
Detectives found approximately 7.25 pounds of marijuana inside the residence, approximately 50 grams of cocaine, prescription medication, digital scales, packaging material, and cash currency in the amount of $4,644. The value of the narcotics and cash exceeded $12,900.
Zydallas, a 4-year-old child and two other children were at the residence.Zydallas was arrested and the 4-year-old was placed in the custody of a family member. It is unclear what happened to the other two children.
Deputies also arrested Allen Zydallas, 40, in St. John the Baptist Parish after a traffic stop. He was carrying more than one pound of marijuana in his vehicle, according to deputies.
The two suspects lived together, but it is unclear how they are related. Both face drug possession charges and are being held in parish jail.
