4 parishes under tornado watch


NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A tornado watch is in effect for Tangipahoa, St. James, Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes until 3 a.m. Saturday.

An upper trough and associated cold front acted as the trigger for additional showers and storms late Friday evening and overnight, bringing a slight risk for severe weather across most of the Gulf coast.

Once the front pushes through early Saturday, skies will clear and high temps will remain in the low 70s with lower humidity as well. A chilly morning Sunday, with 40s and 50s across the region and afternoon highs in the upper 60s to near 70°.
