Baker PD: Arrest made in party shooting that killed 3 teenagers


NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- Members of the Baker Police Department have arrested 16-year-old boy for a shooting at a Baker party that killed three teens and left a fourth injured. The unidentified boy was taken into custody Saturday and booked in the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center. The shooting took place Friday, just after 11 p.m. In the 2600 block of North Magnolia Drive. 

The deceased victims have been identified as 15-year-old Marcell Franklin, 15-year-old Kendal Dorsey and 18-year-old Diontrey Claiborne. Javaughn Simmons, 19, was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. 

The suspect will be charged with three counts of 1st degree murder, one count of attempted first degree murder and one count of illegal use of a firearm.

Police are planning to hold a press conference on Sunday to provide additional information on the case. We will provide updates as soon as they become available.
