Teen arrested for shooting death of Chauvin man

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -- Terrebonne Sheriff's Department Detectives investigating a shooting incident that left a 22-year-old Chauvin man dead. The incident occurred Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Lake Crescent Circle in Houma. The victim has been identified as Travis Clements. 

According to police, responding officers arrived on scene to find Clements inside of a residence, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. 

Police also located 17-year-old Brendon Marcel inside of the residence. During questioning, Marcel admitted to shooting Clements after he learned that Clements stole prescription medications from the house. 

Marcel was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he was booked with one count of second degree murder.

The investigation into the case continues.
