N.O. City Council to consider making Newcomb Blvd. one-way

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - People who don't like orders to remove a fence blocking traffic in one uptown neighborhood may see city council do something that will keep some cars of the road.

The City Planning Commission shot down Newcomb Boulevard neighbors' efforts yesterday to keep a fence at Freret Street and Newcomb Boulevard. That means traffic will be allowed to flow on Newcomb Boulevard from Saint Charles Avenue to Freret Street.

According to our partners at The Lens, New Orleans City Council members will consider Thursday  whether to make Newcomb Boulevard a one-way street. That could limit some of the traffic expected to hit the area.
