Masked man robs Desire convenience store

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for a man caught on camera robbing a convenience store in the Ninth Ward.

On April 11, a man armed with a handgun entered a business on the 4000 block of Louisa and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier couldn't get the register open quickly enough, so the suspect fired two shots at the front counter's protection glass according to police. The cashier then managed to open the register and gave the gunman the money. The suspect immediately fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the gunman is an Africa-American male with a brown complexion, about 25-to-30 years old, around 5'8"-10" tall and weighing around 130-to-140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a fishing hat, blue polo shirt, dark colored pants and brown boots with a rag covering his face.
