GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators still have many questions as they continue to search for a man they believe killed his estranged wife and son early Thursday morning. Investigators now say the search has been scaled back.

Ronald Green Sr., 44, of Gonzales, is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Dewona Green, 40, and Ron Green Jr., 12.

He reportedly called a woman claiming he was going to jump off a bridge and his car was found atop the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Investigators concentrated their search in that area of St. John the Baptist Parish.

Investigators spent all of Thursday looking for Green, but did not find him.

Chief Deputy Tony Bacala with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said helicopters are no longer being used in the search for Green. He added authorities will use the help of the St. John Parish Sheriff's Office security boat patrols in the area.

Bacala also did not rule out the possibility of Green still being alive. He said investigators will pursue all leads until Green is found.

A candlelight vigil is planned for Saturday evening to honor the two victims. It will be held on Lakeway Cove Avenue in Gonzales at 8 p.m.

The investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing.
