Updated:

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -- Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested twin brothers for multiple drug charges. Dylan and Derek Griffin, 21, were taken into custody on Monday on outstanding warrants. The arresting officers also found additional drugs on the brothers.

Police say that the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force obtained the warrants for distribution of marijuana. Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, deputies along with agents from the Louisiana Probation and Parole went to execute the warrants in the 1500 block of Mar Drive. As police pulled up, they made contact with an individual who was sitting in the passenger seat of a truck parked outside. The person, identified as Dylan Griffin, was seen placing a white cup in the bed of the pickup truck. Police obtained the cup and noticed that it contained several small pills dissolving in a liquid. Griffin confirmed with police that the pills were alprazolam and that he was attempting to dissolve the pills.

After placing Dylan under arrest, police went inside the home and made contact with Derek. They also found a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, drug paraphernalia and several hundred dollars in cash inside the residence.

Both brothers were transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and charged per outstanding warrants for distribution of marijuana. The Griffins also received additional charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Judge Ashly Bruce Simpson set the bond for both brother. Derek is being held on a $6,000 bond while Dylan is being held on a $27,500 bond. Dylan received additional charges of possession of alprazolam and obstruction of justice. He is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
