KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

A narcotics search at a Kenner home Friday turned up several venomous rattlesnakes, according to the Kenner Police Department.

Police made the discovery at a residence in the 600 block of Vouray Drive while executing a narcotics search warrant.

Detectives arrested 20-year-old Jesse Nuzzo for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the search of the home, detectives found a ball python snake, a rat snake, a speckled king snake, three Western ribbon snakes, one Western diamondback rattlesnake, two green water snakes, one broad-banded water snake, one Southern black racer snake, one canebrake rattlesnake, one Southern copperhead snake, and a boa constrictor.

Because some of the snakes are venomous and prohibited, the reptiles were taken to Audubon Zoo.

Nuzzo was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on a $30,500 bond.
