North Shore under tornado watch until 9 p.m.

MANDEVILLE, LA (WVUE) - A tornado watch is in effect for all north shore parishes and the Mississippi Gulf coast through 9pm.

The storm system that caused the recent tornado outbreak in several states is moving east, and over the next several hours, the threat of severe weather will be in our area.

A tornado watch means tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.

A tornado warning means a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. Tornado warnings indicate imminent danger to life and property. Go immediately under ground to a basement, storm cellar or an interior room (closet, hallway or bathroom).
