A man was shot Monday afternoon outside of a carwash in Algiers. Around the same time, another man was shot in a neighborhood near the I-610 split.
Both shootings happened shortly after 2 p.m.
An unidentified man was shot in the body several times in the 1700 block of General Degaulle Drive. He was taken to the hospital. There were dozens of bullet casings at the scene. A car and pickup truck was shot up as well. There is no word on the victim's condition.
In a separate shooting, A 25-year-old man was shot several times in the 2900 block of Spain Street. He was taken to the hospital. Police say he is in critical condition.
