Houma woman jailed for allegedly pointing handgun at crowd

A Houma woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly waving a handgun at a crowd of people during a disturbance.

When officers responded to the 300 block of Boykin Street just after 6:30 p.m., they found a crowd of people in the street with 61-year-old Debra Henry pointing a gun in the direction of several bystanders, police said.

Henry was arrested and booked with aggravated assault with a firearm and is jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Jail pending trial or bond.

The handgun was seized as evidence, and the investigation is ongoing as officers are still trying to determine the cause of the disturbance.
