Police: Suspects kick in door to Harvey home, order residents to ground

HARVEY, LA (WVUE) - Video surveillance depicts an armed robbery at a Jefferson Parish home. Victims claim the suspects kicked in the front door, identified themselves as police and ordered them to the ground.

Authorities say that masked men entered a home in the 3800 block of Cimwood Drive in Harvey during the morning hours of May 28. Investigators say that two suspects kicked in the front door of the residence armed with handguns and their faces partially covered.

Officers say that prior to the forced entry, one victim hid in the back of the residence while the other hid in a spare bedroom.

According to the victims, the suspects entered the home and yelled "police, get down."

The victims claim that they stayed hidden until they heard the suspects leave the home. At that point, the victims contacted authorities.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage, one suspect was seen alone at the home's front door. He then walked out of the camera's view.

The video then depicts the same suspect returning along with a second suspect. As entry was made into the residence, a third suspect can also be seen in the video.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 504-364-5300.
