St. Tammany deputies talk alligator off railroad tracks

Updated:
SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

Two St. Tammany deputies came to the rescue on Tuesday after an alligator wandered down the wrong track.

Chief Deputy Brian Trainor and Deputy Howard McCrea, an animal nuisance expert, were able to pull the alligator off of Brownswitch Road Tuesday afternoon in Slidell.

The alligator was pulled from the tracks, captured and safely relocated.

Trainor jokes that he guesses this is what the sheriff considers "other duties as assigned."
