Suspect arrested in triple shooting that killed 2 women

A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting deaths of a 19-year-old woman and a 49-year-old woman and the wounding of an 18-year-old man.

Cody Williams, 25, was arrested by the U.S. Marshall's Task Force at about 1:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Saratoga Street. Williams was booked with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

On March 13, 2014, shortly before 3 p.m., officers responded to a shooting near Foucher and South Saratoga streets, where they found 19-year-old Renalda Variste lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. She died at the hospital.

Sandy George, 49, was found inside a home in the 3500 block of South Saratoga Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. She also died at the hospital.

The 18-year-old was found in the block with a gunshot wound to his foot.

Police have not released a motive in the attack.
