An urban flood advisory is in effect for New Orleans East, Chalmette, Slidell, Eden Isles, and Waveland until 10:15 a.m., according to FOX 8 meteorologist Bruce Katz. The metro area will see rain until about 11 a.m.
Another weak frontal boundary is heading out of Texas into Louisiana, and it will give us a better chance for showers off and on today. We will see a window mid-morning, and it will pick up again in the late afternoon.
On Saturday and Sunday we'll see fewer showers as drier air filters in behind the weak front.
Any pop-up weekend showers will be in the afternoon and early evening.
