LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -- -

Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a drowning that claimed the lives of two local men. Joshua Caleb Brantley, 26, of Hammond and Philip H. White, 26, of Marrero drowned Sunday while tubing on the Amite River in the Watson area.

According to police, around 2:00 p.m. members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office's Marine Division and divers from fire departments in Livingston Parish began searching for the two men who were reported missing. Crews located the bodies of the two men, just after 6:00 p.m., about a half mile from where they entered the water. The pair were tubing with ten other friends, police say.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
