4-month-old twins injured by storm in Kentwood

KENTWOOD, LA (WVUE) -

Four-month-old twins were sent to the hospital after several trees fell down on houses in Kentwood, LA.

It happened in the 400 block of Avenue H. The injuries and damage were a result of strong storms that moved through the area around 4 p.m.

Major Roderick Dunn said that the infants were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He adds that reports from the weather center states that winds were near 40 miles per hour.

"[The mother] said she was in the kitchen, she had just laid the babies down. She's in the kitchen and she heard a big boom," said Vickie Averie, the grandmother of the children.

Relatives say that the infants only had a few scratches.
