NOPD identifies suspect in French Quarter rape and robbery

New Orleans detectives are searching for a man wanted for the rape and robbery of a woman in the French Quarter.

The incident occurred on June 14, 2014 at 3 a.m. in the 300 block of Decatur Street. During investigation, detective Alisha Henderson identified 22-year-old Leo Earl Dixon as the suspect in the case.

According to police, the victim said that she was out a bar at the corner of Bourbon Street and Conti Street. She was approached by the Dixon who offered to buy her a drink. After accepting the drink, she and Dixon talked until the she was ready to leave. Dixon offered to walk with the victim and the pair began walking on Conti towards Decatur.

Once they reached the 300 block of Decatur, Dixon allegedly raped the victim and robbed her, taking her phone and money before running away.

Henderson has obtained an arrest warrant for aggravated rape and simple robbery.
