MORGAN CITY, LA (WVUE) - A Louisiana man was arrested on suspicion of operating a tractor-trailer truck while impaired and possession of marijuana.
Morgan City police were called to a business on Highway 182 on Thursday after reports that someone was revving the engine of an 18-wheeler in the parking lot. Officers found the driver, Roy Kenwood, 36, of Bayou Vista. They said he showed signs of intoxication, but refused a field sobriety test.
Investigators arrested Kenwood and took him to the Morgan City Police Department. Kenwood was given an opportunity to take an 'Intoxilyzer 5000' test, but he refused, according to police. He was taken to the booking area, where officers said he tried to discard a bag containing marijuana that was hidden in his wallet.
Kenwood was charged and booked with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, taking contraband to a penal institution and possession of marijuana.
