We really couldn't have asked for nicer weather for the Fourth of July weekend, with sunny skies and low humidity. Well, you knew that wouldn't last for long!
A southerly wind will return, and with it, the muggies. Dew points, which had been in the 60s, will climb into the 70s, which is more typical for this time of year. Shower chances will also make a comeback starting tomorrow.
Rain chances this week and upcoming weekend are confined to afternoon with some thundershowers possible. Highs will be in the 90s with overnight lows becoming warmer and in the mid- to upper-70s. The low humid air is what allowed overnight temps to get a bit cool, even breaking a few record lows at Slidell.
