Woman booked in shooting flashes officer, gets re-arrested

MORGAN CITY, LA (WVUE) -

A Morgan City woman arrested in connection with a shooting faces an additional charge of obscenity after she exposed her "genital area" to a male corrections officer, according to Morgan City police.

Devan Serpa, 29, was booked with being a principal to the illegal use of a weapon, being a principle to aggravated criminal damage to property and obscenity.

Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department had secured an arrest warrant for Serpa in an investigation into a June 27 shooting in the Oak Street area of Morgan City. Police said several shots were fired, damaging two vehicles and entering an Oak Street home. No one was injured.

Serpa was developed as a suspect and arrested. During the booking process, police said she exposed herself to the officer and the obscenity charge was added.

Serpa remains jailed in Morgan City.
