Shower chances will reach 30-40 percent coverage today and around 20 percent over the weekend.
It will be much drier Saturday and Sunday, so as high temperatures s reach the low- and mid-90s, there aren't as many storms to cool things down. Once again, yesterday's high and low were set within a few hours of each other at MSY thanks to rainfall.
After the weekend, rain chances will increase again as another summertime cold front arrives. This front likely will move past the coast, allowing for some slightly less humid air to arrive by the end of the week.
The tropics remain quiet!
