Tropical Blog: Watching a wave moving across the Yucatan

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A tropical wave is moving from the Caribbean into the Gulf of Mexico.  The circulation is over land right now, but it is worth watching as it pushes west.  It is not likely anything will develop until the system pushes past the Yucatan Peninsula when it may have the chance to get better organized. Some models develop a low pressure center in the Bay of Campeche early in the week. It's Right now it looks like if it were to develop it would be a threat to Mexico, but we will continue to monitor it for you in the Fox 8 Weather Center.

A couple of waves far out in the Atlantic are still showing quite a few thunderstorms as they push west. The most promising is still closer to Africa than the Caribbean. These aren't in the National Hurricane Center narrative right now, but bear watching.
