Tropical Blog: Tropical wave fizzling in the Gulf

The tropical wave that pushed across Florida is just south of the Louisiana coast and beyond a clear circulation on visible satellite there isn't much to it. The low never developed many thunderstorms around the center.

The wave is pushing west across the Gulf following along a ridge to the north. Forecasts call for the weak system to continue to follow this track behind the weakness developed by another low that pushed into South Texas near the Mexican boarder.

It is still worth keeping an eye on, but it looks like this chance at tropical development is almost done. The NHC is now giving the system a 0 percent chance for development in the next 5 days.

Otherwise Edouard is a hurricane far out in the Atlantic and expected to stay there.  The Pacific remains the hot spot this season with Category Four Odile effecting Baja and a tropical depression.
