New Orleans Bowl to be played Dec. 20

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans Bowl officials and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation say the game will be played in the Superdome on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Kick-off is at 10 a.m.

The New Orleans Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1noL5aG) this year's post-season game, sponsored by R+L Carriers, will feature teams from the Sun Belt and Mountain West conferences and will air on ESPN.

The bowl usually pits teams from the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA, which have signed deals that extend their contracts with the bowl for the next six years, through the 2019 game. Foundation spokesman Billy Ferrante says the Mountain West in 2014 is assuming Conference USA's contract for a year.
