VIOLET, LA (WVUE) - A Violet man was booked Sunday night with attempted murder after firing 10 shots at the car of a man he said he felt threatened by, St. Bernard Parish sheriffs say.

Chad Davis, 27, was arrested Sunday night. Sheriffs say one of ten bullets fired by Davis struck the driver, 34-year-old Shawn Williams, in the left hip.

Officers say Davis opened fire on Williams around 9:20 p.m. with a 9mm on Tara Drive near Genie Street.

Williams was taken to University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Six shots struck Williams' vehicle and two hit the roof area of a house on Tara Drive near Genie, sheriffs say.

Davis was arrested later at the home of his girlfriend, where a 9mm gun was found in the back yard. Davis is being held in St. Bernard Parish Prison on bond set Monday at $500,000.

Sheriffs say the two men apparently have an ongoing feud involving a personal matter.
