Cold front will bring brief relief from the muggies

Today's thunderstorms will start popping right around the noon hour, with coverage typical for a July day at 40 percent.

An unusually strong cold front for July will push through the state, triggering more showers and storms. Severe weather is not expected, but some of the storms could bring heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Slightly cooler and drier air will filter in for Wednesday, giving us a good feeling before the muggies return by Thursday afternoon. Morning lows on Wednesday should be in the 60s across the north shore. Daytime highs around 90 won't feel as bad with the lower humidity.
