Work Zone Cam was selected by MnDOT as the low cost, high quality construction camera solution to document progress for The Highway 22 Roundabouts project.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

The Minnesota Department of Transportation, City of Mankato and Blue Earth County recently joined forces to improve safety and decrease traffic delays in Mankato, MN. Work Zone Cam was selected by MnDOT as the low cost, high quality construction camera solution to document progress for The Highway 22 Roundabouts project.

The two new roundabouts will benefit both residents and businesses, who can be a part of the construction progress by viewing, saving and sharing images available online at http://www.roundaboutready.com/Webcams.html. The easy to use Work Zone Cam web interface is embedded right on the project website where real-time high definition pictures are available 24/7. Visitors can even stream an instant time-lapse movie showing the construction from the beginning. Involving the public in the transportation planning process is a key initiative of the MnDOT.

We have found the webcams on our Highway 22 roundabout project beneficial from two aspects. One, it is an easy way to show progress and two, we have found more people visit http://www.roundaboutready.com, said MnDOT District 7 Public Affairs Coordinator, Rebecca Arndt.

Educating the community about navigating the construction zone is just one of the benefits of these construction webcams. The project team is also able to view details on the jobsite via Android and iOS apps so they can communicate about important updates about equipment on site as well as weather in the area. At the completion of the project, Work Zone Cam time-lapse specialists will hand-edit all of the captured jobsite images into a professional time-lapse movie.

Work Zone Cam provides the ideal construction webcam solution for a short term road project. Available for purchase like any piece of equipment on the jobsite, the cameras are also available for rental which allows for flexible payment options.
