FOX 8 has now learned the subject of one of our ongoing investigations is now wanted in two parishes.
Sean Lewis, 24 of Marrero, is now wanted in St. Bernard and Jefferson Parish. Lewis is the focus of an ongoing FOX 8 Defenders limo investigation.
Consumers say Lewis advertises limos and limo buses online. But what shows up, consumers say, is not what they paid for. School buses have shown up to transport passengers on several occasions.
"It pretty much hit home for me when I [saw] what was going on," said Dyrin Riculfy, a Chalmette business owner.
Riculfy told FOX 8 in a recent report that Lewis' company used his company name - Millennium Limousine - to do business.
Last week, Riculfy reported to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office that he received a frightening phone call from Lewis that threatened his life. The sheriff's office confirms that St. Bernard detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Sean Lewis for harassing phone calls by making threats.
He's also wanted in Jefferson Parish for theft and forgery.
In the meantime, FOX 8 was shown several examples of consumers frustrated with Lewis and his limo company.
One consumer claimed a limo with no air conditioning and a burned out headlight broke down so many times, a group of high school seniors missed their prom.
We've also talked to a consumer who says Lewis' company took her money and never showed up on her wedding day.
The Louisiana Public Service Commission, which regulates motor carriers, says Lewis' Louisiana Limousine Inc., and other limo companies tied to the same phone number on the web, do not have the authority to operate.
Yet we've highlighted several examples where the vehicles on 4th Street in Marrero in Jefferson Parish transported passengers all across the region without the proper motor carrier license. This has been happening for several years.
That means they're not getting annual state inspections and consumers have no way of knowing whether they're safe or if they carry the proper insurance.
