One dead, six others injured in violent New Orleans night

A woman was stabbed to death during a night of violence that left six others injured in New Orleans.

Police reported one fatal stabbing and five separate shootings that injured six people last night.

The stabbing victim, a 30-year-old woman, was found in a vacant lot in the 1400 block of North Robertson St. around 6:15 a.m. on July 20.

The shooting victims included a 17-year-old girl who police say was shot multiple times around midnight in the 7000 block of Bunker Hill Road.

Two other women, ages 57 and 23, were shot in the 3500 block of Parish Ave. around 8 p.m. on July 19. Police say they were on a porch when "shots rang out" and both of them were hit. They are listed in stable condition.

An 18-year-old man was shot after midnight on July 20 inside his home in the 5000 block of Frenchmen Street. Police say that bullets "pierced through the walls and doors" of his home. His injuries are not life-threatening

A 17-year-old boy is listed in critical condition after being shot multiple times on the corner of Rocheblave and Allen streets around 7 p.m. on July 19.

A 25-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the 12100 block of North I-10 Service Road. Police say an unknown vehicle pulled up and the driver shot the victim while he was sitting outside.
