Audit finds serious flaws in coroner's office under Galvan

A new state audit found several flaws with the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office under former coroner Peter Galvan.

In a new report, auditors said there were no written polices regulating leave time, and that some workers received paid leave even though they had a negative balance. Among other findings, the auditors said employees of the office freely used gas cards.

Galvan is serving a two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to corruption charges.

FOX 8 uncovered questionable spending by Galvan's office in our award-winning Body of Evidence series.
