7 juveniles arrested in Mt. Hermon burglary

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Seven juveniles have been arrested after a home was forcefully entered and burglarized in Mt. Hermon.

The juveniles, ages 13-17, were arrested after a witness saw several individuals running from a home in the Mt. Vernon area on July 24.

Washington Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene and discovered that a home had been forcefully entered and burglarized.

Officers say they were able to locate a group of seven male juveniles who fit the description given by the witness. Following questioning, officers say they were able to determine that the detained juveniles were the suspects.

All seven were arrested and transported to Washington Parish Jail. They have been charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.

Six of the juveniles, ages 13-15, were released under custodial agreement to their parent or guardian. The seventh suspect, identified as 17-year-old Dontrae Jefferson, was booked into the Washington Parish Jail.

Bond has not been set for Jefferson at this time.
